Planting Location: Knoxville, TN

Project Description/Objective: The goal of this project is to reforest property that was used for timber previously, back to its native state which is a hardwood forest. Site used to be Virginia pine.

Ecological Benefits: A hardwood forest would increase fire resistance and would increase wildlife habitat.

Community Benefits: Private landowners will benefit aesthetically and increase soil health .

Types of Trees: Red oak, white oak, swamp chestnut oak, Chinkapin Oak
