Planting Location: CommuniTree Gardens Nursery: 2194 South Creve Coeur Mill Road, St. Louis, MO 63146
Project Description/Objective: Tree Potting Days: One Tree Planted and Noble Oak sponsored two days of potting young trees. Potting occurs in March and April, and the trees are given away to planting projects in the community in October and November. Through this process we hope to further reforest the region, providing a unique variety of benefits that only trees can.
Ecological Benefits: Urban trees help create a flourishing ecosystem in Missouri cities and towns. Carbon sequestration and ecosystemic restoration benefits are our primary goals.
Community Benefits: Areas with strong urban canopies enjoy a variety of benefits. These include improved physical and mental health, less crime, public savings from stormwater runoff, and more. We hope to bestow these benefits on the neighborhoods that receive Forest ReLeaf trees.
Types of Trees: A number of native species were potted, including river birch, bald cypress, and more.
Number of Trees Donated by Noble Oak: 5,000
